Thinking Negative Leading to Insomnia

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Are you prone to thinking negative thoughts? If you are prone to thinking negative thoughts, then you have a major stressor avoidance that can cause the mind to feel overpowered and sleeplessness may occur frequently. Since, this article is geared to help those with negative patterns to readjust and learn to relax so sleep will appear, thus we are going to walk through steps that will help you learn to think positive.

Negative thoughts
I cannot do this
Where do I start?
I feel so stupid
This is out of my reach
I am not qualified to finish this job
Why me?
Why was I centered out for persecution?
I am tired of life

Positive thoughts
I have enough intelligence to do anything if I put my mind to it
I can start at the beginning and work through the project to finish the task
I have the ability to learn, thus I am smart
Nothing is out of my reach if I put my mind into it
I am qualified to handle this job otherwise, why would I be here.
Why me? Because someone has faith that I can do it
Every one of us endure trying times, so why should I believe that nothing is obtainable when I accomplished a lot in my lifetime.
I am tired of struggling, but there are solutions and I am going to find them.

If you think negative and losing sleep as the result, then take a look at the negative thoughts and practice the positive thoughts. When a person is prone to negative, thinking adverse affects will often take over, thus making it difficult for the person to rest peacefully. Let us review the negative verses the positive. I cannot do this and where do I start? This is a scapegoat to avoid responsibility, thus training the mind to think positive, such as I am intelligent and can do anything I put my mind to. Thus, if you endure insomnia from negative thinking patterns you will need to start by thinking positive and practice the thinking patterns repeatedly until your mind becomes aware that it is capable of sleeping, or doing anything that you enforce it to do.

Negative thinking could be linked to mental disorders or medical conditions, thus if you are losing sleep you may want to visit your physician to weed out any ailments that is causing your to feel frustrated. Patterns and/or behaviors are learned, thus it will take practice to retrain the mind to work healthy.

Other causes of insomnia may include overwhelming stress in a lifestyle. A person may suffer insomnia due to debt problems, death in a family, changes in environments, and so forth. Many times when a person is going through temporary changes insomnia is short lived, however if the problem persists then medical treatment is often needed to resolve the problem.

To give you an idea of what triggers the emotions, which is the strongest force of the mind when insomnia exists we can review stressors.

Stressors are anything that targets the emotions, such as bills, death, birth, changes of all sorts, and so forth. If you have difficulty handling stressors then you should realize that every one of us has them. Most stressors are unavoidable, but for the most part how you live your lifestyle can determine the amount of stressors and stress you endure. If you are considering giving birth, before stepping into the act make sure you are prepared to invest a lot of your time with a newborn baby. How is your financial situation? Can you afford to have a newborn baby at this time? Taking steps to prevent stressors before they arrive can help you avoid insomnia. If your life is, standing and you feel confident, and then by all means give birth if this is a surefire decision you and your partner have made.

Death is out of your reach, so if you are stressing over death that has not occurred you are wasting valuable time and promoting the mind to harm, which can cause insomnia and worse, major health problems.

Living with Insomnia

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Living with insomnia makes a life miserable. One of the best solutions for dealing with insomnia is learning more about the problem and seeking medical treatment to determine if the problem is medical related.

Many times when a person suffers insomnia a medical problem is often creating the chaos. Nervous conditions are one of the leading causes of insomnia, since when the central nervous system is not working correctly the brain is also off balance. In order to find relief of insomnia a person will need medications that will calm the mind and restore chemicals that are off balance in the brain and body.

Few medications work wonders for restoring the mind to a state of relief and calmness. When the mind is in shambles it makes it difficult to sleep at night since the mind often focuses on worrying about things it can and cannot change. Rarely is any answer to stressors available since the mind is too engulfed in chaos. Thus, medications will benefit these types of insomnia related problems.

Other problems that link insomnia is not as easy to treat as other types are. Insomnia is rarely a result of a sleeping disorder; however, there are thousands of people with this type of disorder. Often these people are sensitive to lights, thus changes will cause the person to lose sleep. Sleeping disorders can be treated with fluorescent lights or medications, while few insomnia-based problems may require extensive therapy and medications.

Living with insomnia is never easy but there is help. Do not give up hope, since the answer could be as simple as a prescription. Even if you are suffering, chronic insomnia there is an answer and there is hope. It may take a bit longer to find those answers and that hope, but if you take charge, you are surely to find it.

Many people today are suffering insomnia as a result of technology. Computers, video games, games online, and so forth is consuming minds and more people are wasting hours on a machine rather than exercising and dieting. Those that spend hours often find it difficult to sleep, simply because the mind is overactive while the body is negligent of what it needs to continue life without problems. Thus, the solution is obvious. Cut back on technology and spend more time participating in healthy activities, exercises and training the body to eat at particular hours of the day while sleeping during night hours.

Other problems such as mental disorders can cause acute or chronic insomnia. If you have visited your doctor and no medical problem was found, you may need professional help from a mental health service. Do not feel alarmed at the thought of seeking mental help. When a person asks for help it is a good thing, it is those that do not ask for help we should wonder about. In fact, counselors are merely people that sit in a closed room and discuss problems with patients. If it bothers you to think of it as mental help, think of it as a similarity to visiting a friend and talking about your problems. Psychiatrist or psychologist are merely doctors, thus these people study human behaviors and mental patterns to help find a solution to resolve many problems. The doctors are more qualified than medical doctors to treat the mind, thus the will help you find the cause of your insomnia and other symptoms linking to a possible disorder.

Living with insomnia is a miserable life to live. Thus, when a person feels hopeless it often drives them in the wrong direction. Remember, insomnia is often curable, thus do not give up hope, rather start searching for answers to relieve your stress.

Finally, if you are living with chronic insomnia it is wise to seek help from a medical professional first. The doctor will take you through a series of testing after a physical is conducted to determine what is causing the problem. Be sure to tell the doctor every detail that is possibly linked to insomnia. Each detail will help the doctor to determine if an illness exists and possibly hereditary illness, in which he/she can provide ongoing treatment.

Chronic Insomnia

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Chronic insomnia differs from acute insomnia, in that chronic insomnia often has underlying ailments that trigger sleepless nights. Chronic insomnia may arise from asthma, mental disorders, jag leg, arthritis, chronic back pain, and so forth. Chronic insomnia is continuing while acute insomnia only strikes ever so often.

To give you an example of chronic insomnia we can look at a child’s history. The child each night when he lies down to rest finds it difficult and often is up throughout the night playing games or watching movies. The child’s mind refuses to rest, thus during day hours the child finds it difficult to concentrate. The child often explodes when a person asks him to handle a task or becomes frustrated when a teacher jumps his bones for not doing his homework. The child may become more frustrated later and simply quite school, or else attend school only when the need arises. The child during school hours may get in repeated trouble and utilize enough time outs that eventually the child is expelled from school. As you can see chronic insomnia extends to problems, but it does not stop there. Eventually, if no help is provided the child will endure physical problems, including chest pains, nervous disorders and so forth.

Chronic insomnia can lead to heart attacks, strokes, high-blood pressure, diabetes, and continue to death. When the mind and body does not receive the rest it requires to function problems arise. Since the process of deterioration of health and mental status is prolonged, slowly working toward breakdown, help is needed immediately.

The first step to finding out what the problem is, is seeking out medical treatment. Once the person has a physical, the doctor may determine what is causing the problem. If the doctor is unable to find any medical ailment that is triggering insomnia, then mental health treatment should be the next step.

Mental disorders and ailments can cause insomnia. Many patients that suffer Posttraumatic Stress Syndrome, Sleeping Disorders, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), Schizophrenia, Psychosis, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Impulsive Control Disorder, OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), or other mental disorders often suffer insomnia. To treat chronic insomnia the underlying sources must be treated first. Most disorders of the mind are easily treated with medications; however, few mental disorders may require extensive psychotherapy. Patients with Oppositional Defiant, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder often need ongoing treatment, with few patients suffer Oppositional Defiant Disorder requiring ongoing psychotherapy.

For the most part the doctor will setup a strategy that will include medications, ongoing mental health treatment, and may require the patient to setup a schedule for dieting and exercise. Often techniques such as visual mind strategies, musical strategies, and other tactics will be utilized to help the patient control his or her mind, thus helping the patient cope with stress.

Advisories should be set up for patients with Antisocial Personality Disorders, Oppositional Defiant, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, and other major disorders, simply because these patients will adhere to violence for reason or no reason at all. Thus, if the patient is constantly suffering chronic insomnia this puts others at a higher risk, since the mind is subject to break at any giving time. Persons that suffer psychopathy, sociopath, histrionic personality, antisocial disorders and other dangerous disorders will require ongoing psychotherapy and possible inpatient care to fight off chronic insomnia and the symptoms of the disorders.

If the problem is medical thus the doctor will determine which medication is required to help the mind find a relax state, thus leading to restful nights.
